Global Agenda Council on Brain Research 2014-2016

Research has shown that brain health is a necessary part of human health in all its facets. However, business investment in brain therapeutics for all areas of brain health and disease continues to fall. At the same time, with a rapidly ageing world population, the already huge financial burden of brain disease will continue to grow.

In response to this, the Global Agenda Council on Brain Research will develop a plan for bringing significant new business, government and philanthropic investment into brain health. The council will bring together leaders from large pharmaceutical companies, health management, public health and science funders to discuss current barriers to investment in brain health. This might include issues such as market regulations, basic scientific knowledge and the complexity of the brain. The council will propose specifications, policies, resources and optimal market conditions to spur new investment in brain research.
