Klaus Schwab turns 75
At the age of 75, Professor Klaus Schwab is building on 42 continuous years of leadership as head of the World Economic Forum. Professor Schwab has been honoured by numerous governments and civil society organizations during his career, has founded three global foundations and continues to drive the evolution of the world’s most significant platform for multistakeholder dialogue.
The occasion of his 75th birthday has seen a number of tributes received at the Forum’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, from leaders past and present from the worlds of politics, business, civil society, the arts and other well-wishers.

With increasing human life spans, 100 is the new 60 and 75 is the new 45. And Confucius was right in saying that life begins at 40. It is clear that Klaus Schwab is just getting into his stride and has many more years to continue his spectacular contributions towards creating a happy global village. Under his leadership, the WEF has played as critical a role as the UN General Assembly in bringing our world closer together.

Kofi Annan, Chairman, Kofi Annan Foundation, Switzerland
Klaus’ energy and vision is as infectious today as the day I first met him. The Forum he created in 1971 has turned from being a meeting of minds into a global movement that has had a huge, positive influence on the way governments, businesses and other organizations think and act. I look forward with optimism and excitement to the years ahead.
