Max von Bismarck


Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Skybridge Capital, Switzerland

Max studied Law and Modern History at St John’s College, Oxford University, and at Humboldt Universität zu in Berlin. Before joining the World Economic Forum, Max was a serial entrepreneur. He was a founding team member of the Oxford-based technology company Mondus Limited, and was a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Public One Strategy Consulting, where he advised federal and local governments on issues related to foreign investment, technology and entrepreneurship.

Max joined the GLF Programme in 2005 and, until May 2011, he was Director and Head of Investors at the World Economic Forum. In this role, he built and led an international team based in New York and Geneva, responsible for all global activities and relationships of the Forum related to finance and investment. He also oversaw the Forum’s Global Agenda Council on The Future of Long-Term Investing and was a Trustee of the World Economic Forum Retirement Plan. 

Currently, Max is Partner and Chief Executive Officer for Europe at Skybridge Capital, a leading alternative investments firm with US$ 7.9 billion in assets. He is also a senior adviser on global business at the Asia-Pacific Research Center of Stanford University, and continues to serve as a senior adviser to the World Economic Forum.
