Formerly: led numerous peace building programmes, including women peace and security initiatives that resulted in the creation of the Mano River Women's Peace Network, which was awarded the 2003 UN General Assembly Human Rights Prize; conducted teams to observe elections in post-conflict areas, such as Liberia, and facilitated women peace talks, particularly within Burundi and Congolese negotiations; 2003, instrumental role in achieving gender parity within African Union Commission.
