Jeremy O'Brien
  • Professor, University of Bristol, United Kingdom

2002, PhD in Physics, University of New South Wales, for experimental work on correlated and confined electrons in organic conductors, superconductors and semiconductor nanostructures, and progress towards the fabrication of a phosphorus in a silicon quantum computer. 2001-06, Research Fellow, University of Queensland, worked on quantum optics and quantum information science with single photons. Currently, Professor of Physics and Electrical Engineering, and Director, Centre for Quantum Photonics (CQP), University of Bristol; CQP's efforts are focused on the fundamental and applied quantum mechanics at the heart of quantum information science and technology, ranging from prototypes for scalable quantum computing to generalized quantum measurements, quantum control and quantum metrology.
