Mr. Kamal Nath is currently a Member of Parliament and is the senior most Parliamentarian in the Parliament of India having been elected for 9 terms since 1980. He was India’s Minister of Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister till May 2014. From May 2009 to January 2011, he was the Minister of Road Transport and Highways. From 2004-2009 Mr. Nath was the Commerce & Industry Minister of India. He was the Minister of Environment & Forests of India in 1991 and from 1995 to 1996; he was Textiles Minister of India. He served on various Parliamentary Committees. During the present Lok Sabha (16th) he is Member, Standing Committee on Commerce. He is also Member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Being the senior most Member of Parliament, he served as Speaker Protem and administered oath/affirmation to the newly elected Members.
