Dr Martyn Davies is the CEO of Frontier Advisory - a leading research, strategy and advisory firm that specialises in emerging markets. He has advised a large number of multinational companies on their strategies in Africa and other emerging markets. Over his career, he has consulted for 1/3 of the top 100-listed firms on the JSE, mostly on their expansion strategies into Africa. Martyn is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum that recognises the most distinguished young leaders from around the world. Martyn has chaired both public and private sessions at the Forum including chairing a session at the Forum’s annual meeting in Davos. He is a recipient of a Dangote Fellowship awarded by the WEF for young Africans selected each year for their outstanding leadership, professional accomplishments and commitment to society. He is a Senior Fellow at the MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth – a group comprising leading international economists and is also a member of MasterCard’s MENA Knowledge Forum providing strategic advice to the senior management of MasterCard in the Middle East & African regions. He is an advisory board member of Henley Business School, Korea-Africa Forum of the National Assembly, Republic of Korea, and of the BRICS Economic & Financial Forum, China. Martyn has lectured by invitation at Harvard University, MIT, London School of Economics, Oxford University, IE Business School, Peking University, the African Development Bank, the OECD, the European Commission, the Royal Africa Society and the World Bank. He is an alum of the University of the Witwatersrand, Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea), Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and Yale University. He completed his PhD at the age of twenty-five.
