Formerly with: International Service for National Agricultural Research, Netherlands; Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, University of Arkansas. 1995, with International Food Policy Research Institute: Research Fellow, led programme on public investment; Director, Development Strategy and Governance Division; conducted research on pro-poor development strategies in developing countries in Africa, Asia and Middle East; since 2009, current position. Member, Executive Committee, International Association of Agricultural Economists. Recipient of awards, including Southern Agricultural Economics Association's Distinguished Professional Contribution.
