Has lectured widely in the MENA region, Europe and the US. Former Member, IMF External Advisory Group. Recipient, honours and awards, including: Jordanian Grand Order of Istiklal (Independence) (1995); Jordanian Grand Order of Al-Kawkab (2001); Belgian Grand Cross, Order of the Crown (2001); Named Central Bank Governor of the Year 2009 for the Middle East Region, The Banker magazine, Financial Times of London (January 2010); Rafik Hariri Award for Life Time Achievements (2010).
