Selection Process To be selected as a Technology Pioneer, a company must be involved in the development of life-changing technology innovation and have potential for long-term impact on business and society. In addition, it must demonstrate visionary leadership, show the signs of being a long-standing market leader – and its technology must be proven. The Forum solicits nominations for the Technology Pioneers programme from Technology Pioneer alumni, Forum members, partners, entrepreneurs, innovators and other technology experts. Individuals with a strong understanding of companies that may qualify as Technology Pioneers are encouraged to submit nominations, or to encourage the company to nominate itself. The selection process consists of two main steps: 1. Nominees are short-listed by an internal World Economic Forum committee consisting of industry and technology experts. 2. Short-listed nominees will be asked to submit a complete application form to be evaluated by an external selection committee comprising technology experts within the specific fields. 1.
