 1) Briefly tell us what it is about your company/project that makes it so special?
Our award-winning software platform VoiceObjects X5 provides companies with an open, flexible and carrier-grade infrastructure to efficiently manage the whole voice application lifecycle. Voice applications facilitate self-service over the telephone, increasing efficiency and quality in customer interactions. By using VoiceObjects X5, companies can overcome the challenges inherent in offering high-quality and highly complex telephone services. VoiceObjects X5 enables enterprises to deploy telephony based voice portals for less than half the cost of other vendors’ solutions. Our product dramatically simplifies how companies design and operate high-grade voice applications thanks to its unique server-based operating environment and its easy-to-use development and operating interface. With VoiceObjects X5, the one and the same voice application can also be deployed in parallel in several languages without major effort and expense.
2) What country best facilitates starting a tech company? What single thing can a government do to encourage Technology Pioneers?
We decided to found the company in Germany, based on the positive preconditions,
availability of funding and educated workforce.
3) What makes an innovator?
An innovator is not bound by so called market facts. He asks himself where technological development could lead to. This not only requires experience but also the ability to recognize the potential of an already existing and emerging technology. In addition, an innovator must possess a large portion of creativity, courage, determination, and persuasiveness.
4) How does your company directly contribute to improving the state of the world?
Automated speech-driven solutions will both improve telephone contact with customers and reduce its cost. This will allow new business models to be developed. In addition to self-service functions, voice portals can also be set up for applications such as voice commerce and mobile business. After these voice portals are networked in a few years, a voice-based Internet will then exist, allowing anyone to access a diverse range of content and services by simply picking up the phone. In this way, VoiceObjects is helping to overcome the digital divide.
5) What value do you hope to gain from being a Technology Pioneer?
With the Technology Pioneer award, we will further boost our image as one of the most innovative companies in the market for voice services.
I believe, networking with other Tech Pioneers will foster creative thinking to increase the state of the world.
6) What do you think the role of technology should be in society?
Technology should make live easier and not more complicated. Convenience using technology should be key.
7) What is the right balance in society between scientific interest and ethical concerns?
Scientific interest should never outweigh ethical concerns.
