Areas of Focus
1. Project Advisors
Professional Services Partners are entitled to take part in the selection process to become an Advisor to industry/cross-industry project(s), having a prominent role in building the Governors programme at the Annual Meetings in Davos-Klosters.
• Project Advisor selection process is transparent and merit based
• Project Advisors support projects with senior industry expertise and/or secondees
• In return for the in-kind resources, Project Advisors participate in all project relevant industry sessions, including the Governors Meetings sessions and receive acknowledgement in project-related publications.
Note that participation in the Advisors selection process does not guarantee an award.
2. Cross-industry
dialogues hosted by Professional Services
Answering to the broad interest from the Forum’s constituents, professional services firms shape and host cross-industry, multistakeholder dialogues:
Cross-industry Dialogue on the Future of the Rule of Law in Business
Bridging the Skills Gap through Diversity and Inclusion
Both projects are open-door undertakings: Professional Services Partners choose to contribute according to expertise; Industry Partners from all other sectors can participate; special guests are invited as relevant to the topic.
Cross-industry Dialogue on the Rule of Law in Business
Since the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2007 in Davos, the Forum has been gathering general counsels and regulators to discuss the challenges of the rule and role of law in business. In 2009 we will further define the focus of the discussion and identify action(s) that can make the biggest positive impact in the area of the rule of law in business. Links with the Global Agenda Councils on International Legal Systems and on Global Governance will also be established and cross-industry meetings engaging general counsels, law firms, and regulators on a bigger scale will be arranged.
Cross-industry dialogue on Bridging the Skills Gap through Diversity and Inclusion
The Forum has been stimulating discussions about the Skills Gap and Diversity at the Annual Meetings in Davos-Klosters as well as on the occasion of its regional and industry gatherings. Following a recommendation from the Governors for Professional Services expressed in Davos in 2008, the Forum has carried this dialogue on a cross-industry, multistakeholder basis. In 2009 we plan to finalize objectives and the scope of a project in the area of diversity and the skills gap and initiate works. The dialogue builds on the outcomes of discussions of the Global Agenda Council on Diversity and the Global Agenda Council on the Skills Gap.
3. Governors Meetings for Professional Services
The Governors Meeting of the Professional Services Industry gathers chief executives and chairpersons from the top global consulting, accounting, human capital and law firms who shape the future of the industry. The meeting is confidential and deliberations do not interfere with the competitive relations of companies. The meeting agenda is based on suggestions from the Governors. Governors can start projects or take any appropriate action under the Forum’s auspices to follow up on specific issues.
