Energy Shapers

The Energy Industry Partnership of the World Economic Forum is an exclusive community consisting of 44 leading energy companies both from the upstream and downstream side. As the energy sector is in transition, we are aiming to create a community of 15-20 leading companies that proactively "shape" the transition of the energy sector through policy and regulation engagement, innovation and creative business models. The goal is for the Shapers companies to interact with the existing community of Industry Partners and to catalyse the voice of the Shapers companies through the World Economic Forum platform to better understand and help drive the transition.

The scope of the Energy Shapers community includes but not limited to facilitate dialogues amongst policy makers, regulators and businesses on measures that will provide adequate incentives, promote greater understanding of benefits and use of renewable energy and energy efficiency amongst energy industries and across other sectors and actively integrate investors to raise awareness of significant capital needed in the sector. Energy Industry Shapers benefit from:

Access to the Energy Board Room, held at the Annual Meeting in Davos – It consists of exclusive private sessions for Industry Partners.

Access to annual Spring- and Fall Energy Strategy Meetings – These are the exclusive private meetings for policy advisors (director general level) to Energy Ministers and heads of strategy or advisors to CEOs.

Priority access to cross-industry projects, participation in Regional Summits, and access to the annual publication “Energy Vision Update”.

The opportunity to lead and shape industry projects and initiatives.

James E. Rogers   "The actions we take today to balance our planet's energy, economic and environmental needs
figure prominently in ensuring a sustainable future for a growing global population. The WEF Energy Industry Partnership has brought together a diverse group of leaders who understand the present and future challenges facing the international energy industry. This
collaboration will result in a meaningful framework of solutions and innovations for world leaders grappling with growing energy demand, energy security and global climate change."

James E. Rogers, Chairman, President and CEO, Duke Energy, 2008 Energy Community Leader
