Areas of Focus
Globalization of Alternative Investments
Aims to collect a relevant factual base of information on alternative investments and engage practitioners in a substantive dialogue with policy-makers and other key stakeholders in order to contribute to a healthy financial ecosystem. This effort is supported by a group of leading academics who are conducting extensive research on the global economic impact of private equity in particular.
New Financial Architecture: Scenarios of the Future
The project explores – through multi-stakeholder dialogue and in depth scenario analysis – the future of the global financial system and the implications of the rise of “new” financial powerhouses such as sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds and private equity firms.
Emergence of Global Growth Companies and Technology Pioneers
Investors Industry Partners are working with the World Economic Forum’s Community of Global Growth Companies and Technology Pioneer Programme to identify the emerging giants and address challenges faced during hyper-growth.
Systemic Financial Risks (Dialogue Series)
This project involves a dialogue series with chief risk officers, chief investment officers, leading academics and regulators to identify, assess and propose actionable steps for mitigating systemic financial risks. It will culminate in an all-day workshop in bringing together key stakeholders and resulting in a short report outlining recommended next steps.
Financial Markets Development
This work focuses on shaping the debate about what makes capital markets competitive and how the world’s capital markets compare with each other. The Forum will produce an annual report on capital market competitiveness covering about 50 countries, based on our findings from an in-depth executive survey, published data resources and proprietary input from academics and private sector experts.
Green Investing
This project looks to engage the Investors community in the global effort to address climate change.
