Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2008

World leaders gathering in Tianjin for the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2008 are optimistic about the opportunity for global growth despite the financial turmoil. It is the first major industry meeting since the economic crisis began in earnest.The meeting will focus on the response of the new generation of fast-emerging multinational companies to the current economic challenges and future opportunities under the theme “The Next Wave of Growth”, and will welcome 1,400 participants from 90 countries. Premier Wen Jiabao will give the opening address on Saturday 27 September.
