Flour Mills of Nigeria was incorporated in September 1960 and is currently one of the largest food and agro allied concerns in Africa. Flour Mills is publicly listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The company's flagship brand, Golden Penny, remains the best known and preferred food brand among bakers, confectioneries and consumers in Nigeria. As part of its diversification strategy, in addition to multiple agriculture-related businesses, Flour Mills also operates a cement joint venture (Unicem) and engages in the importation and distribution of high-grade fertilizer.
