World Economic Forum on India

New Delhi, India 4-6 November 2014

As India undertakes the largest democratic exercise in history to elect a new government, the world is waiting to see how the country will use its pluralist fundamentals to create a shared vision of a prosperous and equitable India. Today India enjoys the unparalleled advantage of a population of which more than half is under 25 years of age. This large segment of the population offers vigour for new solutions, greater transparency but also a strong demand for jobs. As exciting as it is to reap the benefits of this demographic dividend, it is equally important to address the inequalities of access and resources that persist in India.

In a promising context and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of World Economic Forum’s engagement with India, this meeting will be the first opportunity for the global multistakeholder community to interact with India’s newly elected government. Under the theme Inclusive India: Collaboration Across Government, Business and Civil Society, the meeting will bring together top Indian and global leaders to discuss how India can restore investor confidence and achieve greater equity in its socio-economic progress.
