Studied Physics, Giessen (Germany) and Harvard universities; Master's in Solid State Physics, Giessen University; PhD in Low Temperature Physics, Twente University (Netherlands). 1989, joined IBM and held several positions in manufacturing in Böblingen, Germany and Burlington, USA. In 2000, joined Bosch and led the semiconductor back end operations; 2003, responsible for semiconductor and sensor operations, Reutlingen, Germany; also led the semiconductor business unit of Bosch. Currently heads the corporate manufacturing coordination function at Bosch's corporate headquarters in Gerlingen.
