Founding Member, COACH, Canada's Health Informatics organization and served as its 2nd President. Founding Member, American Medical Informatics Assoc. 1989, Fellow, American College of Medical Informatics. Chaired and served on numerous international, federal and provincial committees and councils. Adviser and panel member of expert panels for healthcare organizations and government agencies worldwide. Most recently, Chair, Informing Healthcare's International Advisory Group, NHS Wales. Member, TicSalut Scientific Council; external eHealth reviewer, European Commission. Author of hundreds of publications in books and journals. Has given presentations to a wide range of audiences around the world. Recipient of award. Research/expertise include: national health information management & technology strategies, electronic health records, primary care computing, and evaluating information systems.
