Former: positions in three Democratic Presidential campaigns and the Democratic National Committee; Senior Fellow, Progressive Policy Institute. 1988-92, Columnist, Newsday and The Los Angeles Times. 1993-97, Senior Policy Adviser to the Vice-President of the United States, Al Gore; created the National Performance Review. Also managed the Vice-President's Commission on Airline Safety and Security and served on President Clinton's welfare reform task force.
