Over 15 years with Canadian diplomatic service, with expertise in conflict management and peace building, human rights and humanitarian affairs. Recent assignments incl. Director-General Stabilization and Reconstruction Task Force (START); Rep. of Canada in Kandahar, Afghanistan; Director, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Response Division. Led coordination of Canadian Gov't responses to numerous conflicts and natural disasters, incl. Co-Coordinator, 2010 Gov't of Canada Haiti Earthquake Task Force and 2011 Japan Triple Disaster Task Force. Currently Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the UN and Conference on Disarmament, Geneva. Author of articles and book chapters on whole-of-gov't coordination, civilian protection and refugees. Young Global Leader, and Member, Global Agenda Council on Conflict Prevention and Fragile States, World Economic Forum. Recipient: ISAF General Service Medal; Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal; Public Service Award of Excellence; Ministerial Awards for Foreign Policy Excellence. Named to Canadian Top 40 under 40.
