BA in Economics, Jiangxi Institute of Finance and Economics, China; PhD in Economics, University of Birmingham, UK. Former: Researcher in development and transition economics, London School of Economics; Policy Researcher, Jiangxi Institute of Finance and Economics. 1991, joined the World Bank as a Young Professional; then worked as an Economist/Senior Economist on Russia and CIS countries; 1998-2002, took leave from the Bank to work in the private sector in various senior executive positions in China. 2002, returned to the Bank as Program Leader, Investment Climate Program, World Bank Institute; former Country Manager, Cambodia; since 2012, Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, overseeing the program in the three countries and leading the country team with a focus on results, quality and efficiency and leading the policy dialogue with government counterparts, civil society and other partners. Has published widely on topics related to international economics, investment climate and the problems of economies in transition.
