Former positions in international law and human rights, Ministry for Foreign Affairs. 2006-08, State Secretary to the Swedish Minister for Migration, responsible for preparing a labour immigration reform that liberalized opportunities for foreign nationals to work in Sweden; 2008-10, State Secretary to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs; played a central role in leading the Swedish presidency of the European Union in the autumn of 2009; concurrently, G8 sherpa for the EU presidency and prepared the European Councils. 2010, Ambassador of Sweden for the Arctic. Concurrently, since May 2011, Chair, Senior Arctic Officials, Arctic Council, with Sweden as chair of the Council from Denmark in May 2011.
