Recipient, honours and awards, including: named one of the 25 Most Influential People on the Web, Businessweek (2008); named one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers, Foreign Policy Magazine (2011); Lifetime Achievement Award, Oxford Internet Institute, in recognition of role as one of the world's leading advocates of Internet freedom (2011); named one of the 100 most influential people for the future of Japan, Nikkei Business (2011 and 2012).
