Currently, founder of research and development of computer networks. Former Member: Internet Architecture Board (IAB); Board of Trustees, Internet Society (ISOC); Board of Directors, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Member, Strategic Headquarters for the Promotion of an Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society (IT Strategic Headquarters). Chairs and serves on many other governmental committees; active in numerous international scientific associations. Recipient of awards: Jonathan B. Postel Service Award (2005); Funai Achievement Award (2007); IEEE Internet Award (2011); Okawa Prize (2011); inducted into Internet Hall of Fame (2013).
