Recipient of awards and honours, including: Doctor of Science, honoris causa, McGill University, Canada; Ordre National du Mérite Agricole, France; Officer of the National Order of Valour of Cameroon; Commander of the National Order of Burkina Faso; Officer of the National Order of Benin; Commander of the National Order of Merit, Côte d'Ivoire.
