At Columbia University: taught for many years; headed the international business and banking studies programme, Graduate School of International and Public Affairs. Currently, Director, Revenue Watch Institute. Former Senior Associate, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Member, Council on Foreign Relations. Focus of research and writing: the interplay of international business and US foreign policy. Author: Banks Borrowers and the Establishment (1991), a study of the l980s sovereign debt crisis.
