Computational geneticist with expertise developing algorithms to detect genetic signatures of adaption in humans and the microbial organisms that infect humans. Work focuses on Lassa virus, Plasmodium falciparum malaria, vibrio cholera and Ebola virus. Work supported by a Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award, a Packard Foundation Fellowship and an NIH Innovator award, and awards from NIAID, DTRA and the Gates Foundation. On the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Women in Science, Medicine and Engineering. Lead singer of the rock band Thousand Days.
