Since 1986, with the International Monetary Fund; has had experience from emerging market crises in Asia (India, Thailand), Europe (Czech Republic) and Latin America (Brazil, Uruguay) to surveillance of large economies (China, US); former Senior Adviser to the Managing Director; currently Deputy Director, European Department; lately dealt with a range of issues including surveillance of global spill-overs and interconnections, crisis response, early warning systems, and reform of Fund governance.
