Currently, Professor, Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, leading the Intelligent Science Research Group. Research interests include intelligence science, multi-agent systems, semantic Web, machine learning and data mining. Senior Member, IEEE and ACM; Member, AAAI; Chair, WG 12.2, IFIP. Vice-President, Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence; Executive President, Chinese Neural Network Council. Has published 12 monographs, 13 books and more than 400 research papers in journals and conferences, including: Principles of Machine Learning (monograph 1992); Intelligence Science and Knowledge Discovery (monograph, Chinese). Awards: 2nd-Grade National Award, Science and Technology Progress of China (2002), two 2nd-Grade awards, Science and Technology Progress, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1998 and 2001).
