Current: the UK's Foreign Secretary's Special Representative for Climate Change Formerly: Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge; Master, Downing College, Cambridge; 2000-07, Chief Scientific Adviser, UK Government, widely considered responsible for persuading the UK Government to take a world leading position on climate change; 2008-12, Founding Director, Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford. Currently: Senior Science Adviser, UBS; Director, Cambridge Kaspakas; Chancellor, University of Liverpool, UK; Chair, Future Cities Catapult; Member, President's Advisory Council, Government of Rwanda. Published around 500 papers on physical chemistry and science policy issues. Recipient of awards and honours including: knighted for contributions to science and science policy; Officer of the Legion of Honour, awarded by the French President.
