Carrefour

The largest retailer in Europe, and the second largest worldwide, with more than 15,600 stores in 34 countries and over 475,000 employees. It was started over 50 years ago and combines hypermarkets, supermarkets, hard discount, convenience stores and cash and carry outlets. It has over three billion transactions per year and, in 2009, its turnover reached 107 billion euros, including VAT.
