Brazil's largest oil and gas, petrochemicals and energy company, founded in 1953, ended 2009 as the world's fourth largest energy company by market value, and is present in 27 countries. In 2009, its production was close to 2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company has 135 production platforms and 15 refineries with a processing capacity of 2.2 million barrels per day. It also has around 7,000 service stations throughout Brazil and abroad. Its net revenue reached US$ 91.9 billion in 2009. It aims to become one of the world's top five integrated energy companies by 2020.
