A research driven investment management firm built mostly around a position in discretionary long and short equities, as well as positions in quantitative and other strategies. It began in 1992 with nine employees and approximately US$ 25 million in assets under management. By October 2010, it had grown to over 850 employees with over US$ 12 billion in assets under management. It is headquartered in Connecticut with seven offices in the US, Europe and Asia.
