Mitsuru Claire Chino is Executive Officer and General Manager of the Legal Division of Itochu Corporation, where she has a reputation for skillful international negotiations and commitment to diversity issues. Chino is involved in gender issues in Japan and concerned with the challenges facing women's careers in the country, such as inadequate childcare and nursing care for elderly parents and lack of work opportunities. She is a Member of the Advisory Board of Cornell Law School and the President's Council of Cornell Women, and is Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. Chino was an Asia 21 Fellow (Asia Society), Yale World Fellow and a Fellow of the US-Japan Foundation. She is a professionally trained classical singer and was a finalist in the 2007 Tokyo Voice Competition. She holds a BA from Smith College and a JD from Cornell Law School.
