Employment, Skills and Human Capital

Against a backdrop of rising unemployment, shifting demographics and a widening skills gap, the need to invest in people has become more important than ever. The project will provide public tools for analysis and diagnostics, such as the Human Capital Report. It will also anticipate future trends and disruptions in labour markets and create a best practices platform to support strategic action. Three associated regional projects have been launched, namely: New Vision for Arab Employment, Africa Skills Initiative and Skilling India


As a platform for the latest relevant insights, the project aims to:

  • Analyse and understand the skills gap and employment trends through diagnostic tools, in particular the Forum’s annual Human Capital Report (second issue to be launched in spring 2015)
  • Anticipate future trends and disruptions, and measure the impact of technology and other key drivers of change (to be launched in summer 2015)
  • Share best practices for addressing the skills gap and creating jobs, to support strategic multistakeholder actions (practical toolkit to be presented at the 2015 Annual Meeting in Davos)
