Forum Live Interview with Dr. Seth F. Berkley

Dr. Seth F. Berkley, CEO of GAVI Alliance, a public-private partnership promoting immunisation programs in poorer countries, says 370m additional children have been immunised and 5.5m child deaths averted since it was founded in Davos in 2000 with $750m funding from Microsoft founder, Bill Gates. Meeting figures from big business, government, the pharmaceutical industry, and the charitable sector at Davos, helps him find solutions to specific issues, such as vaccine supply chain management and security. Innovative financing schemes have helped GAVI build up a $2bn operating fund, but he hopes to make GAVI sustainable in the long-term. He was in conversation with Bill Owens, executive editor of 60 Minutes.
