Jim Leape, director general of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the global conservation organisation, says water conservation and its sustainable usage is an increasingly hot topic for responsible global companies. But while sustainability has become a business issue, per capita consumption is still on the rise. We are consuming 50% more resources than the earth can supply. Climate change remains the “transcendent threat” to the planet, as extreme weather events become more frequent, so there will need to be far greater commitment from politicians and corporates to addressing these issues. He was in conversation with Alan Murray of the Pew Research Center.
