Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Abdulsalam Haykal is an entrepreneur, investor and NGO activist. Based between Damascus and Beirut he is Chief Executive Officer of Transtek Systems, maker of the Middle East's successful ERP package Compass. He is also founder and Chief Executive Officer of Haykal Media, publisher of the business news magazine Aliqtisadi. He has also launched other ventures in mobile payment and mobile value added services. Haykal has a BA in Political Science from the American University of Beirut and an MA in International Relations from SOAS/University of London. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the American University of Beirut and the University of Kalamoon in Syria. In 2010, he represented Syria at US President Barack Obama's Entrepreneurship Summit, and in 2012, he was profiled in Arabian Business magazine's annual list of the 500 Most Influential Arabs. Haykal is president of the Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association and founder of other NGOs focusing on education and youth empowerment.
