Akudo Anyanwu Ikemba is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Friends Africa, a pan-African organization that fights AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Friends Africa is a partner of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria. Anyanwu Ikemba serves on the boards of the WHO Roll Back Malaria partnership, the Global Health Council and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Nigeria (AHFN). She is also a Member of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative. She has received multiple awards in entrepreneurship and leadership, including Harvard's Public Health Innovator of the year, the Rockefeller Foundation's Top Next Century Innovator, the Ogunte Social Leadership Award, a Stevie Awards for Entrepreneur and Innovator of the Year. Anyanwu Ikemba holds a medical degree from Tufts University, a Master's degree in International Public Health from Harvard University and a BSc in Molecular Biology from Lehigh University. She also holds executive diplomas in non-profit management and leadership from Duke University and the Harvard Kennedy School.
