Alejandro Ferrer is a Partner with Aleman, Cordero, Galindo & Lee. Prior, he was Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Deputy Foreign Minister of Panama. He served in a number of other government roles, including Joint Permanent Representative to the GATT, Ambassador to the World Trade Organization and Deputy Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, and Cousellor of International Trade at the Panamanian Embassy in Washington, DC. Ferrer is an Honorary Business Representative for IE Singapore, President of the Board of the Amador Foundation, and on the roster of panellists for dispute settlement under the CAFTA-DR Free Trade Agreement. He is the recipient of the USMA Complete Lawyer 2005 Prize and the Inter-American Medal, one of Central America's Top 40 Lawyers under Forty by Latin Lawyer, and recognized by Líderes Empresariales as one of the most important business leaders in Panama. Ferrer holds a BA in Law and Political Science (summa cum laude) from USMA and an LLM and SJD from the University of Michigan Law School.
