Alejandro Poma is a Director of Grupo Poma, a Salvadoran based Multilatina with interests in automotive retail, parts, service and finance; hospitality; real estate development; construction materials and architectural products and investments. At Grupo Poma, Alejandro leads Autofacil, an automobile finance company; the Investments office; Grupo Solaire, an industrial concern; and Fundación Poma, a family foundation focused on education, health, and culture. Furthermore, he is Chairman of MesoFoods, one of the leading food service platforms in Colombia. Poma is a board member of Fundacion Salvadoreña para la Salud y Desarrollo Human (FUSAL) and INCAE Business School, and serves as President of the Salvadoran National Committee of INCAE, Central America’s leading graduate business school. In addition, he is President of the Executive Committee of Libras de Amor, one of El Salvador’s most visible NGOs, which executes health and education initiatives focused on extensively reducing child malnutrition in rural areas and is a co-founder of Proyecto Pais, a private sector program aimed to prevent youth violence in El Salvador. Alejandro is a member of the inaugural class of the Central America Leadership Initiative (CALI); an Aspen Institute program designed to develop young leaders in regions around the globe and part of the broader Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN) and for many years has been a member of the Salvadoran chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). In 2010 he was honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. Alejandro earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BA in History from Boston College.
