Anne Richards is Chief Investment Officer, Head of the EMEA region and a main Board Director of Aberdeen Asset Management, an international investment group with over US$ 300 billion of client assets under management. She began her career as a Research Fellow at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, moving into investments in 1992. Her career as an investor includes time with JP Morgan and Mercury Asset Management. In 2002, she joined the main board of Edinburgh Fund Managers as Chief Investment Officer and joint Managing Director, continuing in her role as global Chief Investment Officer when Aberdeen bought EFM in 2003. Richards holds a number of non-executive positions, including at esure, EveryChild, the University of Edinburgh and the Duchy of Lancaster. She is a Member of the Board of Leaders of 2020 Women on Boards and Member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Social Security Systems. Richards is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and INSEAD. She has a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance (ACCA).
