Binta Niambi Brown is a Partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis. She has represented corporate clients in connection with merger and acquisition transactions and provides corporate advisory counsel to general counsels, chief executives and corporate boards. Brown was named in 2011 as one of the “40 Under 40” professionals in Crain's New York Business, recognized by the National Organization for Women as a “Woman of Power and Influence”, and named by Super Lawyer Magazine as a “New York Super Lawyer Rising Star”. She was honoured by the US and Iraqi armies for outstanding pro bono support of a military operation that resulted in securing emergency medical care in the US for a young Iraqi civilian. She is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Barnard College, the New York City Parks Foundation and the American Theatre Wing, and is a Member of the Board of Directors of Human Rights First. Brown received her BA (cum laude) from Barnard College and her JD from Columbia Law School.
