Ming Yu travelled widely for her involvement in various international organizations. She was born in the beautiful city of Kuching on the Borneo Island in Malaysia and completed her full education in Malaysia. She was a fellow for Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellowship (JSPS), a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Washington State University, USA and a research fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She is one of the principal investigators for the World Value Survey (WVS) in Malaysia, a member of DAAD Alumni Association, one of the BMW Foundation Young Leaders and an alumni of the “Building a Better Asia-Young Leaders Retreat” organized by Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan. Ming Yu works on a number of projects related to economic development, particularly social capital, globalization and human capital development as well as competitiveness studies. Her interest in human capital development, has led her to be currently engaged in research on talent mobility and networking.
