Christoph Sutter is Chief Executive Officer of South Pole Carbon Asset Management. Established in 2006, South Pole is a leading developer of high-quality greenhouse gas abatement projects with 10 offices on four continents. Prior to co-founding South Pole, he worked for McKinsey & Co. in Switzerland and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) in New York. Sutter served 10 years advising successfully registered CDM projects with a forecast total of over 100 million t CO2e. He was an elected member of the United Nations Climate Change Methodology Panel for three years and is currently a Board Member of myclimate.org, the leading Swiss not-for-profit organization for climate change solutions. Sutter holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
