Landfall Strategy Group
David Skilling is Director of Landfall Strategy Group, a Singapore-based government advisory firm that works mainly with small country governments. Skilling currently serves as Senior Advisor, Strategy, to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, is a Fellow at the Civil Service College in Singapore, and also engages with other governments. Previously, he was a Senior Fellow with the McKinsey Global Institute, McKinsey's economic research arm, and worked with McKinsey & Company's public sector practice. Prior to joining McKinsey at the start of 2009, Skilling was the founding Chief Executive of the New Zealand Institute, a privately funded, non-partisan think-tank, which focuses on positioning New Zealand in the global economy. Until 2003, he was a Principal Advisor at the New Zealand Treasury, where he worked primarily on economic growth issues. Skilling has a PhD in Public Policy and a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University, as well as a Master's of Commerce (Hons) in Economics from the University of Auckland.
