Davide Serra is a Founding Partner and Portfolio Manager of Algebris Investments, a boutique assets management company specializing in the global financial sector. The investment fund was awarded Best Global Sector Equity Manager in 2007 by Eurohedge and Best Emerging Manager in 2008 at the Alternative Investment News Hedge Fund Industry Awards. Serra is also Chairman and Trustee of the Hakuna Matata Foundation, which he founded with his wife in April 2011. The foundation's main focus is supporting orphanages in central Tanzania. Previously, Serra was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he headed the European Banks Research Team and was the Global Banks Team Coordinator. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he worked at UBS where he won major surveys, including Institutional Investor and Extel from 1998 to 2000. Serra is a graduate cum laude of Bocconi University in Italy and holds a CEMS Master's degree.
