Founder and President
United Hatzalah of Israel
Eli Beer is the Founder and President of United Hatzalah, an independent, non-profit volunteer organization in Israel that coordinates nearly 2,100 medics, paramedics and doctors from all sectors of society to provide immediate response within minutes of a medical emergency. Through the LifeCompass Command Center, the organization uses GPS and dispatch technology to identify the closest and most qualified volunteers and alert them of emergencies via a mobile phone app. The process creates an efficient and integrated response to mass casualty situations, including terrorist attacks. Beer often lectures at health organizations worldwide on the importance of giving medical care within the first few minutes of an incident and using a network of volunteers. He recently gave a talk at TEDMED and has received numerous awards for his work, including the 2010 Social Entrepreneur for Israel by the Schwab Foundation, the 2011 Presidential Award for Volunteerism in Israel and the IIE Victor Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East. Beer also heads Beer Real Estate holdings.
