Senior Vice-President and Managing Editor
Ellana Lee is Senior Vice-President of CNN International, based in Hong Kong. She is also Managing Editor for CNN International Asia-Pacific and has international oversight of the network’s expansive roster of feature programmes. Lee works closely with colleagues at Turner International to develop CNN International’s business operations worldwide. As head of the Asia-Pacific network, she manages CNN’s on-air and online news and feature programming produced throughout the region, including the correspondents and newsgathering teams across 10 operations. Under her management, CNN has received a number of prestigious awards, including the Royal Television Society’s “News Channel of the Year” and the “Cable & Satellite Channel of the Year” at the 2013 Asian Television Awards. Lee is a Member of the Global Agenda Council on Media, Entertainment & Information, a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and an Asia 21 Fellow at the Asia Society. She has a BA in History and International Relations from Georgetown University and an MA in Broadcast Journalism from New York University. She also completed the Executive Program at the Harvard Kennedy School.
